Analytic Approach
As a researcher of this study, I immersed myself in the context to look into and unveil the machinery of interactions embedded in the ordinary overlooked and taken-for-granted occurring social activities from a member’s perspective during the weekly fencing sessions in details with an immersive ethnomethodological approach. It is our task as ethnographers to attend to and unpack the ignored details of what people do, how they do it, when and where they do it, with what and with who they do it in the setting and reorganize such information so that it will be useful for developing an analytic account and design reasoning.

The analytic orientation of this study can be looked at from two levels; on one hand, it is of primary importance to engage in an active focus on the non-verbal body movements and body motion communication, such as physical activities, bodily movements, and behaviors, during the fieldwork, which allows researcher to pinpoint significant sequences and patterns in the process [2]; on the other hand, due to the fact that there are a limited number of identifiable physical actions (lunge, attack, parry, etc.), particular conversations that occurred during session are of crucial value to pay close attention to in conjunction with body movements when conducting the fieldwork in order to establish an explicable, explainable, understandable, and comprehensible natural accountability. Although fencing is seen primarily as a physical activity, it is also “accountable” in and through the usage of language, namely the conversations in the context.
